Project Manager

About the role

We operate the UK’s leading multi-temp, shared customer, food delivery logistics network.   We buy, warehouse, pick and distribute the entire stock that goes into our customer’s stores across the UK, priding ourselves on quality of service. We service many of the hospitality industry’s leading brands.

We are currently seeking a Project Manager who will be responsible for the support and execution of projects and business change activity, working with the Business Change Manager and colleagues to deliver projects seamlessly to deadline and within budget. 

This varied role will see you involved and ultimately managing change projects and activity across the business including system developments and integrations, customer implementations, legislative and compliance activity, process and efficiency improvements. As part of the Booker and Tesco Group companies you will have exposure not just within Best Food Logistics but be involved in projects that cut across all businesses. You will report to the Business Change Manager. 

This role might suit an individual transitioning from another role into project management, or a junior project manager looking to develop their role.

Main Responsibilities

• Execute, monitor and lead a project to a successful conclusion 
• Manage diverse stakeholders with strong interpersonal skills, building effective relationships
• Work with the business to define project scope, objectives and deliverables
• Create and maintain project plans, identifying dependencies, critical activities and risks
• Work under pressure, to deadline, within budget, making decisions required 
• Utilise analytical and problem-solving skills
• Tailor project updates to relevant stakeholders
• Working knowledge of project management software tools eg Excel, Word, Power-point
• Knowledge of Project Management principles and approaches
• May be some travelling to other depot locations/customers

You will need

Essential:

• Interpersonal and Communication skills 
• Organised, disciplined approach with excellent attention to detail
• Analytical and problem-solving skills
• Needs to be tenacious with the ability to utilise their initiative
• Experience of Project Management software tools – excel, word and powerpoint

Desirable:

• Project Scoping, design, implementation and monitoring 
• Project Management Certification or qualifications
• Knowledge of a variety of project management approaches e.g. Prince2, Lean etc

Working Hours:

40 hours per week from Monday – Friday, however flexibility is required.
