About the role

Booker Group is recruiting for an IT Analyst on a 12 month fixed term contract, this position is hands-on and requires a balance between people management, technical support, and service management. You will take ownership of escalated issues, manage workloads, and ensure all incidents and service requests are resolved in line with SLAs. You will work closely with other internal IT teams such as, Infrastructure, Networks, Service Desk.



Main Responsibilities

  • Complying with change management procedures and system security.
  • Complying with all company policies, e.g. financial planning and control, health and safety.
  • Devising and following agreed procedures to resolve technical and procedural problems and escalate as required.
  • Helping to ensure disaster recovery is regularly proven and other risks are regularly reviewed and managed.
  • Complying with IT supplier contracts and licensing agreements to ensure we remain compliant with contractual terms and conditions.
  • Championing diversity and inclusion to ensure everyone feels welcome at Booker.
  • Working to identify issues that will or are impacting systems stability, availability and functionality, and then work promptly, jointly & proactively to mitigate and resolve such issues.
  • Prioritising and promptly resolving technical and procedural issues.
  • Specify enhancements to systems, log system deficiencies and then work to test the delivered software and any associated changes.
  • Working to reliably and efficiently produce timely and accurate management information as required.
  • Providing training and guidance to end users as required.
  • Working with colleagues, customers and suppliers to manage service perception and the understanding of IS services.
  • Work proactively with stakeholders to improve processes and maximise system asset utilisation.
  • Working to deliver system improvements and projects to support the company's growth plans.
  • Working promptly, jointly & proactively on projects to improve cash profit & customer satisfaction.
  • Contributing collaboratively to deliver approved projects in full to agreed budgets and timescales.
  • Assisting in providing fit-for-purpose systems at the minimum cost.
  • Working with suppliers and other stakeholders to achieve effective solutions.
  • Managing suppliers to achieve value for money on products and services.
  • Complying with procedures to store and safely re-use IS equipment effectively and efficiently.
  • Managing mobile device administration.
  • Managing project development budgets.
  • Monitoring system KPIs.
  • Generating management information reporting.
  • Supporting delivery of the mobile device roadmap.
  • Managing equipment spares availability.

You will need

  • Good understanding of mobile & tablet devices using Android & IOS operating systems.
  • Knowledge of mobile device management systems.
  • Knowledge of wholesale industry business processes useful, not essential.
  • Technical project management skills
  • Service management skills.
  • Consistent delivery of results
  • Ability to troubleshoot, test, repair and service equipment.
  • Desire to learn / add value / drive progress.
  • Excellence in building positive relationships with business stakeholders.
  • Good technical trouble shooting and analytical skills.
  • Ability to prioritise activities and organise own work schedule where applicable.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills, being able to communicate. effectively and efficiently with colleagues, customers and suppliers.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to change.
