About the role

We are currently recruiting for a Finance Business Partner (known internally as Commercial Finance Analyst).

This is a unique opportunity to work as part of our Commercial Finance team, balancing both financial accounting and business partnering to our trading teams in Booker Group. 

This role requires you to be a confident communicator, letting the numbers/finances highlight trends, risks and opportunities and be able to effectively business partner the trading teams with that insight.

Initially we expect this role will support the Beer, Wines and Spirits (BWS) category, with the potential long term to move categories or work on projects. 

The role would require the successful candidate to work 3 days per week in our office, ideally based in Wellingborough but will consider our other offices in Watford, Eccles or High Wycombe.

Main Responsibilities

Influence Category Managers to ensure understanding of margin and central income

Be the financial expert for the Category team.

Undertake analysis of the major drivers of category growth e.g. pricing, promotions etc.

Identify future Risk & Opportunity

Delivering monthly management accounting and other relevant reporting for your business area 

You will need

CIMA part qualified or QBE

Strong business partnering skills as you will be working closely with the trading teams

Progression in your career to date and a desire to learn

A commercial mindset with experience in budgeting and forecasting

A natural aptitude towards finance and numerical data with some Management Account experience

The ability to influence across a wide range of internal functions

To ensure strong financial controls are upheld
